Merry Christmas!

Christmas this year came and went with a great bang! We had a white Christmas and were blessed with gifts, family and friends.

Christmas day we had a traditional Christmas dinner with a few family members and neighbors over. And our Christmas Eve gathering got moved to the Saturday following Christmas because of the weather so we made our yearly trip out to Sachse to visit Uncle Steven, Aunt Julie and Blake. We got our bellies full of good food and good company.

Now we are preparing for the New Year and reflecting on 2009. I can't say 2009 was bad because I truly believe all things happen for a reason so here's to bettering yourself and your life as you see fit!

"May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed." Psalm 20:4

Happy Thanksgiving

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had this year.! Andy's Aunt and Uncle from Ohio and cousin and his wife from New York made it this Thanksgiving which made this holiday that much more special.

There was plenty of story telling and lots of laughs. And the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns both had victories in their Thanksgiving day battles which is a huge deal to the men in this family.

All in all a great day full of love and thanks. We are very blessed!

Busy, Busy, Bee

We have been so buys this fall season! I'm involved in both boys PTA's and we are preparing for a Fall Festival, a Fall Party and a Trunk'or'Treat. Not to mention Tre's baseball, LASP activities, choir and Battle of the Books.

We celebrated three weddings this month! We were able to attend one wedding and had a blast. The bride and groom had a beautiful ceremony. It was nice to see where they grew up and to meet their wonderful families.

We wished my Great Grandma a very happy 75th birthday. We celebrated at Great Grandma's and Grandpa's Elk Lodge where they dance every Saturday night. Can you believe it?

I also celebrated a birthday! I had a wonderful day and enjoyed my gifts Andy and boys picked out this year. My sister, niece and nephew also took me out for lunch. The kids are getting so big and are really such a joy to be around. I wrapped the day up with a PTA meeting and Hot Dog dinner at the elementary school.

Once October is complete we will move into the Thanksgiving season. I have much to be thankful for and try to reflect on my blessings each and everyday. We are busy but we are blessed to be able to do so much! We'll spend Thanksgiving with both sides of our families this year as we did last year...which makes for a long day but it only happens once a year.

Such busy days this time of year!

Summer Sunday Fun

This morning we met Grammi and Aunt Andrea at the Cheesecake Factory for a little brunch. We ate so much food and still had so much left over! We didnt even eat cheesecake! Unbelievable right?!

Cade had a good time eating everything he could get his hands on espceciall Grammi's plate. When we arrived he had his fruit loops to munch on and then the fresh bread basket. After that he ate mom's french toast and eggs, french fries and Grammi's monte cristo.

Cade had a great week eating. He eats but mostly small meals 6-7 times a day and this past week he's been able to be patient enough to sit and eat a bit more. With him being so impatient it makes it hard to go out to eat because before our food has arrived he's ready to go thus making it clear to us and the entire restaurant he is ready to go. Quite embarassing at times! But we've noticed the past few outings he hasn't thrown a fit at the table so we hope this is a trend that continues.

After we arrived home we all laid down for a nap. So nice on a full belly!

After trying to find something to keep Cade busy I decided to throw the boys outside to play in the splash pool. Such a great investment and a great distraction for Cade. This boy is so busy trying to keep him entertained sometimes is very exhausting. But he loves the outdoors and water so this gave me enough time to clean the fridge out.

If anyone needs chicken nuggest I found three big bags full in my freezer!

Enjoy!

The Little Joys in Life

The camera has been found! Cade entered the game room carrying it in his hand. Lord only knows where he had the camera stashed!

As I was flipping through pictures that I uploaded I came across this video from his 1st birthday. I still look at him and wonder how I was so blessed again to have such a happy, healthy boy.

Enjoy!

On The Mend

I had such a great entry planned today full of pictures! But someone, and I know which someone, has run off with my camera! Or maybe I've finally lost my marbles!

Cade is finally on the mend. We had a Saturday visit to the doctor for his nasty cold and fever. We even went back in Monday because he still had not felt any better but still just a nasty cold and fever. Wednesday we visited yet again for his 15m well visit. 15m people! Ohh EMMM Geee! Happily Cade has mastered everything listed in daily activities, motor skills and language development on his check up list. His fever, thankfully, had subsided by that morning but now he has developed two ear infections. Eeek! Back on antibiotics yet again. Thankfully no fever, yet.

Shots? As in two?

I finally got back to the gym today and Cade did well in the Kids Klub. Afterwards we went on our many weekly trips to Wal-Mart and bought Mega Blocks and a golf set which after nap he thoroughly enjoyed.

insert pictures of happy play with blocks here from the lost camera

Isn't he just having so much fun? ;)

Tomorrow being Friday, we get to happily welcome in the weekend! Tre will be visiting his Mamaw's this weekend and a trip to see family and Cade will be with Grammi. I surely hope to catch up on some much need sleep with no children in the house!

New Addition

This Easter we welcomed a new addition to our family! Meet Hershey:

We beleive Hershey is a Lab/Chow mix. She was first Andy's dog a few years back but stayed on the farm with Andy's sister and mother as it was a happy home for her. She had 3 other doggy friends indoors and 3 outdoors and plenty of space to run when she wanted.

The first week with her has been great! She is a perfect addition to our family. She has the best temperment and Cade just loves to love on her in his own special 14 month old way.

Hershey has taken such a liking to Tre as well. She jumps in his bed every night and sleeps with him until time to get up the next day.

We did have storms this week which she is quite scared of! Poor thing shakes even with the sound of just rain. Hopefully or lovely Texas storm season won't be so bad this year! Ha!
